LAW Fundamentals of Courtroom Practice

2 credits day; 2 credits evening.

This course takes students through the trial process from pre-trial motions to closing arguments. The course is presented primarily in a lecture format and is taught by an experienced trial lawyer, now a judge. Students learn how to make arguments to the court and jury, to introduce exhibits, and to examine and cross-examine witnesses. The materials cover the relevant rules of evidence, ethical considerations, trial strategy, and the art of persuasion in the courtroom.

  Prerequisite: Evidence suggested.
