Binding Early Decision Program
Applicants who are ready to commit to Suffolk Law may apply under the Binding Early Decision Program. Each student admitted through the Binding Early Decision Program will qualify for a substantial merit-based scholarship.
Applicants who are accepted into the Binding Early Decision Program are committed to enrolling at Suffolk Law in May or August 2020.
Applicants who choose to apply through the Binding Early Decision Program may not apply to any other law school’s early binding action program. While applicants may choose to apply to other law schools through a non-binding application process prior to acceptance at Suffolk Law, all other applications must be withdrawn upon acceptance into the Suffolk Law Binding Early Decision Program. After acceptance, admitted students may not submit new applications to other law schools.
Dec. 6, 2019 – Application deadline. All parts of the application must be received by the Office of Law Admission.
Jan. 15, 2020 – Deposit deadline for admitted students under the Binding Early Decision Program.
All applicants who wish to be considered for the Binding Early Decision Program must submit a completed application through lsac.org by December 6, 2019. Completed applications must include all required application components, including:
- at least one letter of recommendation
- personal essay
- all undergraduate and graduate transcripts submitted through LSAC’s Credential Assembly Services
- valid LSAT score (with the exception of November 2019 LSAT takers who must still submit completed applications by the deadline but whose score will be released after December 1)
- signed Binding Early Decision Agreement [PDF]
Applications will be accepted under the Binding Early Decision Program for the Accelerated JD Program, full-time or evening JD programs, and for all dual-degree programs.
Applicants who are not admitted under the Early Binding Decision, or who apply after the deadline, will automatically be considered under the regular admission process and will be released from the terms of the Early Binding Decision Agreement.
Binding Early Decision Program candidates are evaluated on the same criteria as all other applicants, however those admitted into the program will typically have outstanding academic credentials.
Decisions will be made on a rolling basis beginning in late October.
Admitted applicants must submit a nonrefundable $500 seat deposit by Jan. 15, 2020, to confirm enrollment within the program. Deposit deadline extensions are not available for those admitted through the Binding Early Decision Program.
The Binding Early Decision Program is intended for highly qualified applicants who are ready to start their legal education at Suffolk Law. Once admitted under the Early Binding Decision Program, applicants are committed to attending Suffolk Law and must withdraw all other law school applications immediately.
Applicants admitted under the Early Binding Decision Program will be notified of the receipt of a merit-based scholarship prior to their deposit deadline. However, other financial aid awards, including loan packages, will not be determined until later in the spring.
Applicants accepted under the Early Binding Decision Program may not defer their admission.
The Binding Early Decision Program is not available for GRE-only applicants. All applicants to the program must have a valid LSAT score.
Suffolk Law reserves the right to provide other law schools with the names of applicants admitted under the Binding Early Decision Program.
All other admissions policies and procedures must be adhered to in order to remain in the agreement.
