Professor Lorie Graham and co-author Kathryn E. Fort published an editorial in The Hill, a blog covering the Congress and politics. In their editorial, “If Truth Be Told,” the authors discuss the historical background of the 1978 Indian Child Welfare Act and recently enacted guidelines and proposed regulations governing the statute’s interpretation. Professor Graham and her co-author recommend the establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission to unearth stories of removal and help ensure the wellbeing of indigenous children, families, and tribes across the United States.
