Lisa E. Brown is a Clinical Fellow in Suffolk University Law School's Health Law Clinic. She works with law students on adult guardianships, private health insurance appeals for denials of coverage, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI)/Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) appeals. Prior to becoming a Clinical Fellow, Ms. Brown served as a staff attorney in both the Children's Advocacy Unit and Disability Advocacy Program Unit of Legal Services of the Hudson Valley (LSHV) in New York. In this capacity, Ms. Brown represented homeless and low-income individuals in areas including special education, government benefits, and disability benefits while also providing systemic advocacy. Ms. Brown previously worked or volunteered with organizations in New York City, Missouri, Mississippi, and the District of Columbia to address special education matters and the school-to-prison pipeline. Ms. Brown is a graduate of Washington University School of Law and Stanford University.
