John Schwartz (MHA ’11) was recently selected to serve on the Sawyer Business School Alumni Board of Directors.

The Board includes 15 alumni representatives who support a lifelong commitment between Suffolk University and its alumni by promoting educational, professional, social, and community service activities.

Schwartz is the IT Audit Manager at Partners HealthCare System and the recipient of four Partners in Excellence (PIE) awards. He said he would not have been able to achieve such professional success without his Suffolk Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree.

Since graduating in 2011, the Suffolk alumni community has been a valuable resource for Schwartz. “In this tight job market, the alumni are one of your best resources in terms of career development. They provide advice and help prepare you for the next level in your career because there is a sense of kinship amongst alumni,” he said.

As a member of the Board, Schwartz hopes to help build and maintain a strong alumni community within the Business School. “The continuing support you receive from alumni and professors is one of the biggest advantages of the program,” said Schwartz, who keeps in touch with former classmates and professors.

“I enjoyed my Suffolk experience and want to make sure others have the same experience,” he said. He expresses his appreciation for Suffolk by giving lectures on campus and mentoring students in the Healthcare Mentor Program.
