Three Suffolk University student-athletes earned weekly recognition by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, or GNAC, for the week of March 26.

  • Junior Alex Torres was named GNAC Pitcher of the Week. Torres retired the first 19 hitters he faced as he pitched a complete-game one-hitter in the Rams' 2-0 victory over Johnson & Wales on Saturday. The right-hander was dominant, needing only 88 pitches to defeat the Wildcats. Torres fired first-pitch strikes to 19 of the 23 batters he faced and only went to one three-ball count on the afternoon.
  • Senior Marc Doyle was named to the GNAC’s Weekly Honor Roll for Baseball. Doyle went 6 and 2/3 innings in Thursday’s 5-3 victory over Bridgewater State. He was 7-for-20 at the plate and now has an 11-game hitting streak going.
  • Junior Clara Conklin was selected to the GNAC Weekly Honor for Softball. She had a monster week, going 7-for-17 at the plate, with six extra-base hits. Conklin had a career day against Lasell College, going 5-for-5 with five RBI, including two home runs and two doubles, while scoring three times.
