Sophomore forward Alex Olson (Hingham, MA) scored two goals and added an assist in a battle with Stonehill as Suffolk won 8-5 and gathered another ECAC victory at the Walter Brown Arena.

Suffolk went up 2-0 early in the first period with goals by John Rocchio (East Greenich, RI) and Bryan Smuzs (Daleville, VA). After Stonehill scored, senior forward John Delaney (Quincy, MA) scored to put Suffolk on top 3-1 going into the second period.

The two teams traded punches in the second period with Stonehill capitalizing on two power-play opportunities and a goal by Ryan Collins (Amesbury, MA) for the Rams. Olson then scored the first of his pair to make it 5-3, Suffolk.

The Rams were able to add a short-handed goal by Dan Pencinger (Randolph, NJ) with 12 minutes to go in the second period which proved to be the game winner. Stonehill would counter, but Alex Olson scored his second goal of the night, this time short-handed and the second period ended with the Rams on top 7-4.

The Rams took the victory behind solid goaltending from sophomore Mark Grignon (Grosse Point, MI), and an empty net goal from Pencinger, his second. Suffolk is now 5-12-1 overall and 4-5 in the ECAC Northeast race.

Coach Chris Glionna's team travels to Springfield Tuesday for a game against Western New England. The Rams then host Fitchburg State Saturday, Feb. 3 at 3:25 p.m. at Walter Brown Arena.
