For the fourth year in a row, as Suffolk students move out of their residence halls, they will have an opportunity to contribute to Suffolk's Dump and Run Program.
Since 2007, Suffolk has been collaborating with Dump and Run to offer a donation/reuse program in the residence halls during spring move-out. The program was launched by the Office of Facilities Planning & Management.
In combination with the implementation of a residence hall recycling program, Dump and Run has contributed to reducing by 65% the combined trash output of 150 Tremont and Miller Hall for April and May (comparing 2009 to pre-program implementation in 2006). This program saves money for the University, reduces our environmental impact, and allows people to benefit from using items that do not need to be thrown away.
This year the program is being coordinated by the Eco-Reps, five students who live on-campus and serve as environmental peer educators.
