Members of the Suffolk men’s and women’s basketball teams scored big when it came to 2016-17 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) post-season awards.

In addition to the individual awards, Suffolk was recognized with the Institutional Sportsmanship Award.

Freshman forward Alexis Hackett was a unanimous selection as the conference’s Rookie of the Year, a first accomplishment for a player on the women’s hoop squad. She averaged 8.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game and earned six conference Rookie of the Week honors, a program-record.

Joining Hackett in the awards parade were seniors Georgia Bourikas and Kelsey Schiebel, who were named All-GNAC third-team selections.
