Will Feldman, one of the greatest cross-country runners in the history of Suffolk University, is coming back home.
He returns to his alma mater in a new role – the first-ever head coach of track & field/cross-country for the Rams. Track & field is a new addition to Suffolk varsity athletics.
Beginning in the 2017-18 season, Feldman will be in command of both the men’s and women’s cross-country and track & field teams. The four squads were part of a Fall 2016 announcement of six new varsity sports making its way into Suffolk’s overall athletics program.
“Over the past several years Suffolk University has seen a tremendous growth in athletics, and indoor and outdoor track and field underscore the University's commitment to continue that growth," said Director of Athletics Cary McConnell. "The combination of Will's coaching experience; passion for cross-country and track and field and his passion for Suffolk were evident throughout the interview process and will no doubt prove to be great assets to building Suffolk's program. We are thrilled to have a Suffolk alumnus leading our program."
"This opportunity means the world to me, and is a dream come true," said Feldman. "Suffolk is a special place and I owe so much to the faculty, staff and students who showed me so much kindness and inspired me while I was a student. Suffolk is my home, and I truly love it.”
Feldman, received his undergraduate degree in 2010, was a four-year letter-winner, three-year captain, and most valuable player three straight seasons as a member of the Rams men’s cross-country team.
Feldman returns to Suffolk after two years as an assistant coach at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
