Suffolk University student-athletes broke a school record for Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Academic honors during the 2016-17 season, with a total of 69 recognized this academic year.

That figure represents the most all-time for the blue-and-gold since the inaugural academic team was named in 2008. The baseball team had the most Rams’ honorees with 12, followed by women’s soccer with 10.

In addition, the Suffolk hockey team, which competes in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), had 14 players selected to the conference’s 2017 spring All-Academic team.

Throughout the academic year, more than 250 Suffolk student-athletes across 14 sports combined for a 3.21 department GPA, with 19 of them achieving perfect 4.0 marks in either the fall or spring semesters.
