FAQs and the Answers to Them

Orientation registration is free for up to two family members. Overnight on-campus housing is available to family members at an additional $78 per person, per night.

Please be advised: All fees collected for orientation, early arrival programs, and on-campus overnight accommodations are nonrefundable.

Please contact Orientation & New Student Programs if you've already registered but cannot attend. You can also make changes to your registration up to 48 hours before your session by returning to the registration form or contacting us. Again, all registration fees are nonrefundable.

Orientation includes walking in and between buildings, so please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Other than that, just bring a lot of good questions!

Suffolk’s downtown Boston location means there are ample parking options close by. For your reference, here is a list of parking facilities on or near our campus. Parking is very expensive and can run from $25-40 for one day. Some of these parking garages offer certain discounts and validation; please check the list for updated information before arriving at Suffolk. Please be advised that we are unable to validate parking at the Government Center Garage during orientation, as this is only available to students attending a tour through the Welcome Center.

Family members may choose to stay on campus during June orientation at an additional cost of $78 per person, per night, Due to space constraints, family members staying on campus overnight may be asked to share a suite with other guests of the same gender. The suites feature individual, separate bedrooms connected via a shared bathroom. If a student has more than one family member staying on campus overnight, they may request to stay in the same suite.

You may also choose to stay in one of the many hotels close to our campus--some of which offer Suffolk visitors a preferred rate. Please contact these hotels directly to book your room. Students stay on campus overnight regardless, free of charge. If a student's family members choose to stay overnight on campus, any fees received are nonrefundable. Please only register for overnight accommodations if you are certain you will be attending and staying on campus overnight.

You'll check in together with your student. This location will be included in your confirmation email once you have registered.

Student and family orientation sessions run concurrently. You and your student will have a full itinerary of activities. You will be in a few sessions together, but you'll spend the majority of your time in sessions especially developed for either students or family members. You will, however, have plenty of time to speak with each other throughout the day.
