Transfer Orientation Schedule

Suffolk orientation for transfer students and their families is a one-day program with no overnight accommodation requirement. You will receive your formal schedule when you check-in. The list below will give you an idea of what orientation involves.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and the program concludes at approximately 5:30 p.m. All first-year and transfer students are required to attend orientation and must attend their full orientation program. While not required, family involvement is highly encouraged. Please refer to your confirmation letter for orientation details after you have registered.

Activities during orientation include:

  • Welcome address and greetings
  • Small group sessions with Orientation Leaders and fellow incoming students
  • Academic assessment and placement sessions
  • Address by the academic deans
  • Academic sessions including curriculum introduction and course pre-selection
  • Essential workshops for new students on:
    • Financial aid
    • Off-campus housing
    • Student accounts
    • Work-study opportunities
  • Academic advising and finalization of registration for first-semester courses
  • Student success workshops
  • Student ID photos
