How did you first get interested in baking?

"I’ve been baking ever since I can remember. I liked to bake for myself and my friends. In middle and high school, it was always something I did to de-stress. People would say to me, “You should do something with this.” In the back of my head, I’m sure everyone says that to everyone, so I never really took it seriously."

How did Suffolk help you decide on a career path?

"I was in a web design class. I made all my promotional things in it: my logo, my business cards, and eventually my website. And then I thought, “Why not do something with this?” I started creating things in the kitchen, and after graduation I officially launched it. If it weren’t for that class, I probably would never have thought of having a website, just the idea of having a bakery."

What’s the most unexpected aspect of your job?

"I always knew everyone was tied together in this industry, but it’s so funny the people you meet. You think of these big names, and then when you talk to them, everybody’s so down-to-earth and welcoming."

Your optimal breakfast choice to start the workday?

"I eat a standard breakfast every morning: a banana with a tablespoon of peanut butter and a side of spinach and kale. I like raw food. Even though I’m a baker, I like to be healthy. "
