Activities during orientation include:

  • Small group sessions with orientation leaders and your fellow incoming students
  • Academic assessment and placement sessions
  • Lunch and student services/activities fair
  • Address by the academic deans
  • Academic sessions including curriculum introduction and course pre-selection
  • Essential workshops for new students
    • Financial aid
    • Off-campus housing
    • Student accounts
    • Work-study opportunities
  • Academic advising and finalization of registration for first-semester courses
  • Student success workshops
  • Student ID photos

Orientation attendance is mandatory for all new freshman and transfer students. If you cannot attend, please contact the Office of Orientation & New Student Program so that we may discuss alternative arrangements.
