"My experience at Suffolk has taught me one fundamental thing: life is unpredictable!"

Jo'lise's Suffolk Story

We go through many stages in life, and life at college is the time when we all dive deep into the ocean of new beginnings and possibilities.

My experience at Suffolk has taught me one fundamental thing: life is unpredictable! It might be bad, it might be great, it might be awkward, and it might not interest you, but what you can expect is that anything can happen. I got to start my own a cappella group, Soulfully Versed, on campus. This group had the chance to perform at many important events, including the inauguration of President Marisa Kelly. We also hosted our major show with special guests like The House Jacks and recorded our first album. It can be streamed on 34 platforms around the world!

I’ve walked through campus making my presence known from day one—even if that meant I had to make just a little bit of noise every now and then. So, remember that there will be moments that carry a lot of sentimental value and you can’t help but miss those years later. There have been, and there will continue to be, many opportunities for which I am truly thankful. And so I will leave you with my favorite quote: “Today you are You, that is truer than true.” –Dr. Seuss
