Suffolk University Gallery Presents Stephen D. Paine Scholarship Recipients

The Suffolk University Gallery presents The Stephen D. Paine Scholarship Recipients 2016 exhibit from Jan. 26 through Feb. 7, with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26.

The exhibition, organized by Suffolk University Gallery Director Deborah Davidson, features the work of six student artists who work in a range of media. The juror this year is Mary Tinti, curator of the Fitchburg Art Museum.

The Stephen D. Paine Scholarship, established in 1999 by the Boston Art Dealers Association, is designed to support students who are entering their final year in studio art programs at colleges in the city of Boston.

As young artists conclude their undergraduate studies, the Boston Art Dealers Association extends financial assistance to support their commitment to the making of art.

The scholarship was established in memory of Stephen D. Paine, who was passionate about the visual arts and dedicated to supporting arts education through his involvement with numerous Boston-area institutions.
