Stephen D. Paine Scholarship Exhibit
Suffolk University Gallery presents The Stephen D. Paine Scholarship Recipients 2014 exhibit through Feb. 19.
The exhibition, organized by Suffolk University Gallery director Deborah Davidson and Suffolk Professor Ilona Anderson, features the work of six student artists from Boston-area institutions working in a range of media.
The juror this year is Jennifer Gross, deputy director for curatorial affairs and chief curator at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum.
The Stephen D. Paine Scholarship, established in 1999 by the Boston Art Dealers Association, is designed to support students who are entering their final year in studio art programs at colleges in the city of Boston. As young artists conclude their undergraduate studies, the Boston Art Dealers Association (BADA) extends financial assistance in order to support their commitment to the making of art. The scholarship is established in memory of Stephen D. Paine who was passionate about the visual arts and dedicated to supporting arts education through his involvement with numerous Boston-area institutions.
