3 Law School Programs Cited for Excellence in U.S. News Rankings

Legal Writing, Dispute Resolution and Clinical Education programs considered among Top 20 nationwide

Suffolk University Law School’s Legal Writing, Dispute Resolution, and Clinical programs have moved up in national rankings published in the U.S. News and World Report 2014 Best Law School report.

  • The Law School’s Legal Writing program, which prepares students to be successful attorneys by developing their professional lawyering skills, is ranked fifth in the nation, up from ninth in the 2012 rankings. This program has been among the top 25 nationally for five years running.
  • The Dispute Resolution program is ranked 12th in the nation, up from 18th last year.
  • The Law School’s Clinical Programs, which offer students legal experience while helping underserved populations, are ranked 17th, compared to 20th last year. The Clinical Programs have ranked among the nation’s top 25 for six years.

Suffolk University Law School also saw upward movement in its diversity rankings. Twenty-eight percent of the 2012-13 entering class were students of color. The Law School’s part-time program ranking moved up from 50th to 31st. 

“The national rankings show that Suffolk University Law School is on the move,” said Law School Dean Camille Nelson. “I am proud of the rich theoretical and practical experience that adds to the robust and supportive academic and intellectual life of Suffolk Law.”
