Women's Tennis Team Takes Home Conference Honors
Sophomore Aidiana Sagyndykova was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Year for women's tennis as the team took home multiple awards for the 2014 season.
Sagyndykova finished a stellar 2014 campaign that saw her win 13 consecutive singles matches. Sagyndykova put together a 13-1 record during this year's season playing in the number one position in individual play. She also was named a first-team All-Conference selection and was named to the conference's All-Tournament team for her playoff effort.
Second-team selection
Junior Rebecca Eshoo was named a second-team All-Conference selection in singles play. She recorded a 9-5 overall record on the year and was 5-1 in conference action.
Eshoo recorded a 9-5 overall singles record on the year and was 5-1 in conference action. Through three seasons she has won a total of 15 games in individual play.
Esho also combined to win a total of eight matches on the season in doubles action. She primarily played with classmate Abby Trigilio, and the duo posted a 7-3 mark in partners play.
All sportsmanship
Senior Adrianna Garrett was named to the GNAC's All-Sportsmanship team. She wraps up a four-year career that saw her win a total of 17 matches. She collected seven wins this season in the number two position for Suffolk.
Suffolk finished the 2014 season with an 8-7 overall record. The Rams were the number three seed in this year's GNAC tournament, with a 4-2 mark as they advanced to the conference semifinals before a 5-2 setback to Johnson & Wales ended their season.
