Delaney Sylvester of the Suffolk softball team has been named the Louisville Slugger/ National Fastpitch Coaches Association DIII National Player of the Week.

It is the first-ever national recognition for a Ram in the softball program’s 33-year history.

During a 7-0 week for the Suffolk nine, Sylvester hit .715 with three home runs, 10 RBIs, eight runs scored, two doubles, and four walks.

In addition to her offensive exploits, she was outstanding on defense, collecting 31 putouts and one assist as the team’s catcher.
