The Nippon Foundation has donated 100 books about Japan to Suffolk University.

The books, in English, are meant to foster better understanding of contemporary Japan.

They deal with Japanese politics, government, international relations, economics, business, society, culture, literature, the arts, and history.

Titles range from Who Was Responsible? (a study of the decisions that led to the attack on Pearl Harbor), to Tsukiji, The Fish Market at the Center of the World, by Theodore Bestor (a look at how to understand Japanese culture by looking at food preferences).

The collection is housed in the Mildred Sawyer Library.

The Nippon Foundation is a non-profit philanthropic organization, active in Japan and around the world and dedicated to funding and assisting community-led efforts aimed at realizing a more peaceful and prosperous global society.
