2 Rams Named to All-Conference Mens Soccer Teams

Seniors Ben Rollins and Nick DiCicco were selected to the 2012 Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Conference men's soccer teams.

Rollins earned second-team honors at forward, while DiCicco was a third-team selection as a midfielder.

Rollins, who registered 2012 team highs in points (23), goals (8) and assists (7), also was recognized by the College Sports Information Directors of America, which selected him for the Capital One Academic All-District first team.

Ben Rollins
He started all 18 games for the Rams soccer team, and his 23 points were the fourth highest among GNAC players. Rollins tied for fifth among conference scorers with his eight goals and seven assists.

Head Coach Andrius Zeikus called Rollins, a team captain in his junior and senior seasons, the “heart and soul” of the team.

“I am very proud of what Ben has been able to accomplish in his four seasons for us” said Zeikus. “He has been a leader both on and off the field, a positive influence to his teammates, and a person whose tremendous work ethic and skills set will be missed.”

Rollins was named Most Valuable Player of the 2010 GNAC Tournament, as he helped guide the Rams to their first ever conference championship and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance.

He appeared in 51 games for the Rams over four years, scoring a total of 21 career goals with 16 assists for 58 points.

Nick DiCicco
DiCicco tallied two goals and an assist for five points in 13 games this year. In his three-year career with the Rams he scored eight goals and six assists in 46 games, for a total of 22 points. Three of DiCicco's career goals were game-winners.

During his sophomore campaign in 2010, DiCicco was a third-team All-Conference selection and also was named to the GNAC All-Tournament team.
