Athletes Holiday Traditions Benefit Local Kids

Student-athletes get into the holiday spirit with Toys for Tots and Breakfast with Santa events

The Athletics Department continues its tradition of celebrating the holiday season with children.

The athletes served breakfast to more than 60 youngsters from a local YMCA in the Regan Gymnasium. The kids then got to chat with Santa Claus about their wish lists. Each child was presented with a gift courtesy of the Suffolk University Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

Coaches and staff prepared a breakfast feast of waffles, fruit, bagels and juice, and Suffolk's student-athletes shot baskets with the children and treated them to activities such as face painting and temporary tattoos.

Meanwhile, the Suffolk University Hockey team conducted its eighth annual Toys for Tots drive on Dec. 5 during a game against Stonehill College at Steriti Rink in Boston's North End.

The Rams gathered donations to be handed out to local charities in collaboration with the Suffolk University Police Department.
