“Insert Title Here” Exhibit Shows Fine Arts Students’ Mastery of Form and Meaning

At the Suffolk University Gallery through May 10

The Suffolk University Gallery presents Insert Title Here, a student exhibition that embraces the broad spectrum of ideas and materials that define contemporary art, through May 10. An opening reception with the artists will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29.

Painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, video, photography, and installation are used to explore themes of identity, personal mythology, perception and representation in this visually stunning fine arts senior thesis exhibition.

Using visual means to inform, challenge, enhance or impart a sense of wonder is a significant part of our cultural history. Students in Suffolk University’s Fine Arts BFA program, through comprehensive studio work and the rigorous intellectual inquiry of a broad liberal arts curriculum, are trained to be critical thinkers and makers, and their mastery of form and meaning are on display in Insert Title Here.

The work in Insert Title Here is the product of four years of experimentation, risk taking, and refinement. Each work in the exhibition reveals an acute sensitivity to how craft and materials can be used to express both personal and universal themes using a clear and distinct voice.
