Student-Athlete Honor Roll Celebrates Academic Feats

144 honored for excelling with both books and sport

The Suffolk University Athletic Director’s Honor Roll released for the spring 2016 semester names 144 student-athletes who achieved a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

“For the second straight semester, nearly 70 percent of our student-athletes proved that athletics do not come before academics, showing that the Suffolk athletics culture – athletes, teams, coaches and staff – encompass the true definition of Division III athletics – student first, athlete second,” said Director of Athletics Cary McConnell.

“As much as we boast about success on the field, court, and ice, accomplishments inside the classroom continue to be a reflection on the students’ commitment to build skills necessary to make them well-rounded individuals and succeed after their time in blue and gold. These achievements are what we could not be more proud of.”

Ten of the student-athletes recognized for their academic success achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA. They are: Marcos Baistrocchi (Golf); Matt Brenner (Baseball); Rachel Fancy (Volleyball); Zach Grogan (Baseball); Connor Henry (Hockey); Nicole Isakson (Softball); Sydney Littlefield (Softball/Volleyball); McKenzie McGrath (Softball); Justin Selep (Hockey); and Caleb Unni (Men’s Basketball)
