Baseball Association Honors 4 Rams Standouts

Outfielder Brady Chant signs with summer collegiate league

Four members of the Suffolk University baseball team have been named all-region selections by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association.

They were among 52 players from 25 schools recognized on the first, second, and third teams, with Suffolk and Salve Regina leading with the number of selections.

Rams’ sophomore Brady Chant earned first-team all-region honors as an outfielder. Freshman second baseman Jake Fraska was a second-team selection, while senior third baseman Drew Carter and freshman pitcher Kevin Sinatra earned third-team honors.

The four helped lead Suffolk to an overall record of 33-13 and the baseball program’s sixth Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship.

Chant also made news by signing a 15-day summer 2016 contract with the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs of the Future Collegiate Baseball League, which has 10 franchises in the New England region.

The Suffolk baseball team was featured in the June 2016 New England Baseball Journal story, “RAM TOUGH, Resilient, confident Suffolk repeats in GNAC.”
