The single stream recycling pilot program Suffolk launched in fall 2009 is now expanding! Started in our largest residence hall, 150 Tremont, the program was aimed at increasing the recycling rate. Recycling rate measures how much of the total waste stream is being recycled. The initiative worked, with the recycling rate more than doubling. More details about the recycling program.

Single stream recycling will be available to residents in 10 West and Miller Hall at the start of the spring 2010 semester. Single stream recycling makes recycling easier by eliminating the need to separate papers from glass, metal, and plastic.
