Library Adds ScienceDirect Scholarly E-journals

The Mildred F. Sawyer Library has added the journal content from Elsevier's Freedom Collection, a long-sought acquisition successfully negotiated by assistant library directors Becky Fulweiler and Kathi Maio. This publisher "database" will include over 2,000 academic e-journals with full text, most back to 1995, on a platform called ScienceDirect. While the Freedom Collection does not include deep backfile and does not provide full text access to certain scholarly society journals not technically published by Elsevier, it does provide a very extensive source of high-quality peer-reviewed journal literature in all areas of the sciences, social sciences, and even business.

Access to the aggregated and searchable content of the Freedom Collection is through the "ScienceDirect" titled database http://0-www.sciencedirect.com.library.law.suffolk.edu/science/search/allsources/advanced). Access via the journal title is through the library's "eJournal Locator" found on the right hand side of the Sawyer Library's home page (http://www.suffolk.edu/sawlib/sawyer.htm).
