High Marks for Student-Athletes

54 Rams named to all-conference academic team

Suffolk student-athletes play smart, excelling not only in competition, but also in the classroom.

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference names 54 Suffolk University student-athletes to the 2015-16 Academic All-GNAC Team—the second highest all-time number for the blue-and-gold.

The honor goes to student-athletes who are sophomores and above, have maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or more during the 2015-16 academic year, and have completed in at least one full season of a GNAC sponsored sport. See the full list of Suffolk honorees (PDF).

In March, the ECAC Northeast Hockey League honored its 2015-16 All-Academic Team, with 13 Suffolk players earning the distinction.

Over the course of the year, more than 200 Suffolk student-athletes across 13 varsity sports combined for a 3.22 department GPA; 16 achieved perfect 4.0s in both the fall or spring semester; and five Rams reached the milestone in the both semesters.

They are:

Matt Brenner, junior baseball
Connor Henry, freshman, hockey
Sydney Littlefield, sophomore, softball and volleyball
Justin Selep, senior, hockey
Caleb Unni, senior, men's basketball
