Republican businessman Christy Mihos will speak at Suffolk University Law School April 7 as the 2010 Gubernatorial Speaker Series presented by the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Service continues.

Mihos, who developed and expanded the Christy’s Markets convenience store chain throughout New England, is a political activist who served as vice chairman and later director of the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. This is his second run for governor.

He will speak and take questions from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at Suffolk University Law School, 120 Tremont St., Boston.

Mihos is the third of four candidates to address a roundtable of senior policymakers, nonprofit leaders, representatives from the business community, lobbyists, lawyers, faculty, and students.

Republican Charlie Baker kicked off the Rappaport Center’s 2010 Gubernatorial Speaker Series at Suffolk University Law School Feb. 4, followed by State Treasurer Tim Cahill on March 22.

Gov. Deval Patrick will wrap up the series on May 24.

The Rappaport Center’s Speaker Series affords the gubernatorial candidates a forum to discuss policy issues they think are important to Massachusetts voters and to identify their priorities.

The event is open to the Suffolk University Law School community and invited guests.
