In October 2011 Suffolk University Law School faculty, staff, and students with an interest in advancing the school's environmental practices met with Suffolk's Campus Sustainability Coordinator to explore opportunities and start developing goals and action steps. Since that meeting, a Suffolk University Law School Environmental Working Group has formed, which will supplement the well-established university-wide Sustainability Committee.

Dean Camille Nelson has expressed her support for the group's work. "I am delighted to be a part of the efforts to green Suffolk University Law School," said Dean Nelson. "It is a privilege to be able to work with a team of faculty, staff, administrators, and students who are committed to the best environmental and sustainable practices. I look forward to our ongoing greening efforts which accrue to our individual and community benefit. It's simply the right thing to do on many levels - to the extent that we can model sustainable practices, we are honored to do so."

The Working Group meets monthly to identify opportunities, develop implementation plans, and track progress. The Group is initiating and supporting a number of conservation initiatives from waste reduction and recycling to energy and water conservation.
