Yee joins bench at Quincy District Court
Paul M. Yee, JD '74 - Paul M. Yee Jr. on Monday took the oath as an associate justice of Quincy District Court.
Yee, a lawyer who lives in Brookline and spent 23 years in private practice, is the court’s first Asian-American judge.
Gov. Deval Patrick swore Yee in on Monday at a ceremony held at Kwong Kow Chinese School in Boston.

In his private practice, Yee concentrated on civil and criminal cases involving clients in the Asian community in Boston and Quincy, according to a program for Monday’s event.
Yee, a former Suffolk County prosecutor, started his legal career in New York, working as a lawyer with Brooklyn Legal Services before being hired by the Boston Housing Authority.
