The post-season accolades continue to roll in for the Suffolk University Hockey team, which had three players named to the ECAC Northeast All-Academic team for the 2009-10 season.

Senior Niles Moore, junior Dan Dandreo, and sophomore Nate Linard were three of 57 student-athletes representing eight ECAC Northeast teams to earn this honor based on outstanding performance in the classroom.

To be named to the All-Academic team, the student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and have competed in at least one-half of his team’s contests during the current season (a goaltender must have played at least 33 percent of his team’s minutes).

Moore finished the season as Suffolk's leader in both points (26) and goals (15) and was also named to the ECAC Northeast Honorable Mention team as a forward. He earned multiple honors during the season, twice from the ECAC Northeast, as he was Player of the Week on Jan. 4 and was named to the Weekly Honor Roll on Nov. 23. As the season opened, he was named to the Becker College Ice Breaker All-Tournament team and the Cod Fish Bowl All-Tournament team. In the Cod Fish Bowl, Moore scored two goals in the Rams' 4-3 victory over the University of Southern New Hampshire and then added a goal in the championship game, a 2-1 victory over UMass-Boston. Moore's 15 goals on the season ranked him eighth among the ECAC Northeast, while his 26 points were the ninth highest total in the league. He also was named Suffolk’s Offensive Player of the Year. Moore maintains a 3.58 GPA as a Government/Political Science Major.

Dandreo appeared in 20 games this season on the Rams’ blueline, registering two points. He maintains a 3.72 GPA earning Academic High Honors as an Entrepreneurship major in Suffolk’s Sawyer School of Management.

Linard appeared in 21 games this season for Suffolk as a defense-man, registering seven assists. He was named Suffolk’s Most Improved Player for the 2009-10 season. He maintains a 3.10 GPA as an undecided major.
