Alumnus Involved in Gulf Oil Litigation

Suffolk Law School alumnus Carl Rosenblum is involved in litigation resulting from the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, arguing successfully for plaintiffs fighting the federal government’s six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling.

Rosenblum represents drilling companies in the lawsuit.

A federal judge in Louisiana has granted a preliminary restraining order, keeping the Department of Interior moratorium from taking effect until a trial is held.

The White House has said it would appeal.

Rosenblum argued that suspension of deep water oil drilling could prove more economically devastating than the BP spill.
