Two Students Chosen as Rosoff Scholars
Recipients
Incoming Suffolk University freshman Bianca Saunders and Mia Moulon, a Sawyer Business School student, were each honored with academic scholarships during the 14th annual Rosoff Awards, held recently at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum in Boston.
The scholarship program honors the late Arnold Rosoff, founder of the Boston-based advertising agency Arnold Worldwide.
Suffolk and other local universities partnered with The Ad Club to award a total of $110,000 in scholarships.
Saunders, a Boston Latin School graduate who will be entering the University as a freshman in the fall, received a $10,000 scholarship, with $5,000 funded by Suffolk and $5,000 funded by The Ad Club Foundation.
“I’m really excited about receiving this award,” said Saunders, who plans to major in print journalism. “I feel proud of being part of something this big, and hopefully it will help to open some doors for me in the future.”
Saunders will be paired with a mentor from a Rosoff sponsor company, will receive a paid internship at an Ad Club member company, and will receive assistance from The Ad Club when she launches her post-degree career search.
Moulon received the first of what will be an annual Arnold Rosoff Memorial Scholarship.
“It was totally unexpected, and when they called my name, I started crying.” said Moulon, a business and marketing major.
She was delighted to be recognized by the program, which promotes education and diversity. “I took a globalization course, and it taught me how important social networking and diversity is in the workplace, bringing together people from all over the world to be successful,” she said.
