Suffolk lost the 2007 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament Championship game to Western New England, 11-2, Sunday at Holman Stadium in Nashua, NH.

The Rams (21-12) reached the GNAC tournament title game after beating Rivier and Johnson & Wales in the semifinals Saturday. Suffolk could not get on track against WNEC as the Rams allowed the Golden Bears to score two runs in the second inning and six in the third inning.

Three Suffolk players were selected to the 2007 GNAC All-Tournament team, Nick Martinho, Tom Kelly and Dan Delia.

Martinho, a junior catcher from Middleton, MA, was named to the all-tourney team. He finished with a .429 average in the four tournament games, with six hits in 14 at-bats, two home runs and seven RBI.

Kelly, a freshman outfielder from Milton, MA, was also selected all-tournament. Kelly hit .333 in the four-game tournament with five hits in 15 at-bats. He had two doubles and four RBI.

Delia, a sophomore pitcher from Boston, MA, was named all-tournament. Delia had a complete game win over Rivier, 3-1. He pitched 10 innings, including one inning in relief. Delia gave up only three hits and one run and had five strikeouts.

Against WNEC, Suffolk scored one run in the third inning when Nick Chioffi (Burlington, VT) singled and later scored on a single from Martinho. The Rams added another run in the fifth inning when junior Jeison King (Lowell, MA) hit a solo home run over the left field wall.
