Volleyball Beats Salem State 3-1

SALEM, Mass.-- Senior Noel Moran (Dartmouth, Mass.) and sophomore Kelsey Armstrong (Corvallis, Ore.) each notched nine kills to lead Suffolk to a 3-1 non-league college volleyball victory over Salem State Tuesday evening by game scores of 31-33, 30-22, 31-29 and 30-17 at the Rohrig Center.

Moran added 10 digs in the triumph for the visiting Rams (3-8), who have won two straight and three of four overall. Sophomore Amanda Marcotte (Middleboro, Mass.) chipped in with seven kills and seven digs for the winners, who also received 33 set assists and four digs from freshman Julie Sullivan (Haverhill, Mass.).

Sophomore Kristen Agrella (Dracut, Mass.) registered 13 kills in the setback for the host Vikings (0-4).

Suffolk travels across town on Saturday afternoon for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match with St. Joseph (Conn.) and Emerson that begins at Noon, while Salem State heads to Providence, R.I. on Thursday evening to take on Rhode Island College in a non-league outing that begins at 7:00 p.m.
