Men's Soccer Stops Daniel Webster, 2-0

NASHUA, N.H.-- Goals by juniors Clayton Plumer (Cranston, R.I.) and Ben Lotterer (Lima, Peru) in the closing minutes of the first half lifted Suffolk to a 2-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference men’s soccer victory over Daniel Webster Saturday afternoon at Eagle Field.

Plumer gave the visiting Rams (4-3, 2-2 Great Northeast) the only goal they would need in the 38th minute by converting a rebound off a corner kick, and Lotterer provided an insurance tally for Suffolk just 4:27 before intermission by netting his fifth marker of the year on an assist from senior Marco Panza (Watertown, Mass.).

Freshman Jack DeJesus (Swampscott, Mass.) made that stand up in goal for the Rams, as he made six saves to pick up his second career shutout, while senior Craig Van Tuyl (Buffalo, N.Y.) made seven stops in 75 minutes of action in net for the host Eagles (1-7-1, 0-5-1 Great Northeast) as Suffolk outshot Daniel Webster by a 15-8 margin for the match.

Suffolk heads across town on Tuesday evening to take on Emmanuel in a Great Northeast outing that begins at 8:00 p.m., while Daniel Webster heads to Standish, Maine on Tuesday afternoon to take on Saint Joseph’s (Maine) in a Great Northeast match that begins at 4:00 p.m
