Volleyball Team Drops Close Match To Lesley

BOSTON, Mass.-- Sophomore Lindsey Marek (Killingworth, Conn.) notched 14 kills to lead Lesley to a 3-2 non-league college volleyball victory over Suffolk Tuesday evening by game scores of 30-25, 25-30, 30-28, 24-30 and 15-9 in a match played at Regan Gymnasium. 

Junior Gianna Spaziante (Hawthorne, N.Y.) added five services aces in the triumph for the visiting Lynx (12-10), who also received 10 digs from junior Hana Sakamoto (Tokyo, Japan).

Senior Noel Moran (Dartmouth, Mass.) paced the host Rams (3-17) with 12 kills and 10 digs in the setback, while sophomore Amanda Marcotte (Middleboro, Mass.) added eight kills and seven digs. Sophomore Kelsey Armstrong (Corvallis, Ore.) added five kills and 13 digs for Suffolk, which also received five kills and seven digs from sophomore Aly Brain (Hanson, Mass.) as well as 30 set assists from freshman Julie Sullivan (Haverhill, Mass.).

Suffolk closes out its 2007 slate on Saturday afternoon by heading to Nashua, N.H. for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match with Lasell and host Daniel Webster beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Lesley heads to Hartford, Conn. on Thursday evening to take on Saint Joseph (Conn.) in a non-league match that begins at 7:30 p.m.
