National Lawyers Guild to Honor Law School Student

The Massachusetts Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild will honor the outstanding achievements of Lori B. Hill, a third-year student at Suffolk University Law School.

Hill has served as coordinator of the National Lawyers Guild’s Street Law Clinics and Foreclosure Prevention Task Force.

She acted as liaison with the Boston City Council and area non-profits to organize monthly foreclosure- and eviction-prevention meetings. Hill also worked with the Youth Advocacy Project, Suffolk Law School’s Juvenile Defenders Clinic, and MassEquality.

The award will be presented at the Guild’s Annual Testimonial Dinner at the Colonnade Hotel in Boston at 6 p.m. Friday, May 15.

The NLG also will honor attorney Barbara J. Dougan, Massachusetts project director for Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM); attorney Stephen Hrones, senior partner at the Boston law firm of Hrones & Garrity; attorney Barbara Rabin, a nationally recognized fair housing specialist; and tenant rights community organizers Steve Meacham and City Life/Vida Urbana
