Women’s Tennis Standout Named Conference Player of the Year for Unprecedented 3rd Time
Suffolk Rams women’s tennis player Aidiana Sagyndykova made conference history this week, and men’s soccer standout Christian Restrepo was honored for his stellar play on the field during recent tournament play.
Sagyndykova was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Year for the third time in her college career. It was the first time in GNAC history that the same person has been named the best player three times.
During her senior campaign, Sagyndykova went 14-1 in singles competition, including a perfect 14-0 dual record with a 9-0 mark as the Rams’ ace and a 5-0 ledger in the second spot.
Sagyndykova also received all-conference team honors, along with teammates Valentina Medina, Isabel Rathlev, and Elena Cisneros Garcia, who made the All-Sportsmanship Team. Suffolk graduate student Eugenia Skorobogatova earned a spot on the conference all-tournament team. More
