GNAC Basketball Rookies of the Year Both Hail from Suffolk

Jenni-Rose DiCecco of the Suffolk women’s basketball team, and Brendan Mulson of the Rams’ men’s hoop squad were each named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Year for the 2017-18 season.

DiCecco, a 5-foot-6 guard, finished the regular season with a team-high 14.6 points per game, the highest average of all freshmen in the conference. More

Mulson, a 6-foot-4 forward, enjoyed an excellent all-around season, averaging 11.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. More

Mulson teammate Thomas Duffy was named to the GNAC second all-conference team, and Michael Hagopian made the third all-conference team. Rams guard Cameron Powers was selected to the conference’s All-Sportsmanship squad.

DiCecco’s teammates, Georgia Bourikas and Alexis Hackett, were  named to the second and third all-conference team, respectively. Suffolk backcourt ace Alexandra Nagri was chosen to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship squad.
