Community Rallies to Show Suffolk CARES

Pandemic creates financial challenges for students

The Suffolk community is demonstrating its generosity as students face financial challenges related to the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact. As restaurants and other businesses close or trim staff, Suffolk’s working students are facing food insecurity, the possibility of missing rental payments, and more. However, alumni, staff, and friends have reached out to offer assistance.

President Marisa Kelly addresses the issue on her latest Momentum blog post, writing: “I am asking you to support these students by participating in a fundraising effort for the Suffolk CARES program. Suffolk CARES includes both the Suffolk food pantry, which addresses the serious issue of food insecurity among our students, and an emergency assistance fund. Suffolk CARES will provide direct financial assistance to students impacted by the residual effects of this health crisis.”
