The Sawyer Business School's online MBA jumped 73 spots in a single year in the 2023 U.S. News rankings.

After an impressive four-year rise of almost 100 places in the U.S. News & World Report rankings of Best Undergraduate Business Schools, another Sawyer Business School program has also jumped several notches in the latest report: the online MBA ranked 115, a jump of 73 spots in a single year.

“Our online graduate business programs offer distance learners an excellent educational experience, and U.S. News continues to recognize our offerings as being among the best in the country,” said Amy Zeng, dean of the Sawyer Business School. “The rapid rise of our online MBA demonstrates the value of these flexible and rigorous online degree programs.”

Offering an advanced business curriculum led by active industry insiders, the Sawyer Business School online MBA blends real-world engagement and experiential learning in an interconnected environment. Students work with 6-10 actual clients across their program, enabling them to immediately put into practice the learning they get in the classroom. They also work with a global company on a real-world challenge.

In addition to the recent accolade from U.S. News, in 2022 The Princeton Review ranked the Sawyer Business School online MBA among the top 50 in the US.

The rankings upswing also comes on the heels of a 22-spot jump for the Business School's MPA program to number 95 in the nation.

For the 2023 edition, U.S. News ranked online MBA programs using five categories:

  • Engagement (30%)
  • Peer Assessment (25%)
  • Faculty Credentials and Training (15%)
  • Student Excellence (15%)
  • Services and Technologies (15%)

A program's score for each ranking indicator was calculated using data that the program reported to U.S. News in a statistical survey and from data collected in a separate peer assessment survey.
