Suffolk University will join forces with the Boston Herald for in-depth coverage of the 2014 Massachusetts gubernatorial race through a series of polls, analysis, commentary and a webcast that dissects issues and campaign messaging.

The gubernatorial race partnership builds on the success of Suffolk University’s collaboration with the Herald in its coverage of the Boston mayoral race.

As was the case with the mayoral race partnership, Suffolk University Political Research Center surveys on the governor’s race will be presented in the Herald, and David Paleologos, the Center’s director, will offer lively analysis in his Poll Pal column.

Suffolk Vice President John Nucci will be a featured commentator as the Herald reports on and analyzes the campaign’s progress.

A new “Boiler Room” webcast will feature Suffolk students and professors, Herald political reporters, and GOP and Democratic strategists examining campaign issues and messages.

“Partnering with the Boston Herald in its coverage of the governor’s race provides students with the hands-on learning experiences that are a hallmark of a Suffolk education,” said Suffolk University President Jim McCarthy. “As we did with the Boston mayoral race, we look forward to working with the Herald to provide insights into this critical race through polls, forums, debates and commentary.”

Suffolk University and the Boston Herald partnered to keep the electorate informed about the recent Boston mayoral race through polling, coverage, commentary and the only televised primary debate, which was presented in collaboration with New England Cable News and featured Suffolk students among those asking questions of the candidates.
