University Among “Best 381 Colleges” for 2017

Chosen by The Princeton Review for outstanding academics

The Princeton Review has selected Suffolk University as one of the best institutions in the nation for undergraduate education. The University is featured in the 2017 edition of The Best 381 Colleges.

Suffolk also is included among the select group of schools listed as Best Northeastern in the annual college guide’s web feature “Region by Region” and is featured as a Green College.

In its profile of Suffolk University, The Princeton Review quotes extensively from students surveyed for the book.

Students commenting on their Suffolk campus experiences noted that the University offers a “wide selection of interesting majors” and that small class sizes give the “united, diverse mass of students” a “global perspective in a real-world, urban setting.” They praise professors as being “very friendly” and say that “class participation comes naturally because class size is so small and the professor knows your name.”

Located in “the heart of downtown Boston,” Suffolk offers a “happy environment” for "anyone who wants to be at a school and still be directly in the city." They see the city as a “campus and playground” with an “endless array of things to do” and feel that “the students become a part of the city.”

Students characterize themselves as “friendly” saying that they “interact with one another regardless of where they are from.” They note that cultures and beliefs vary greatly, which is “definitely a part of what makes Suffolk so unique.”

“Suffolk University’s outstanding academics are the chief reason we chose it for this book and we strongly recommend it to applicants,” says Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s senior vice-president and author of The Best 381 Colleges. Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book.
