In an April 7, 2021, Business Insider article, “Here are 7 surprising law schools that could land you a job in Big Law,” Suffolk Law had the most Big Law employment placements among the group of 7 schools.
Each of the schools has “hundreds of alumni currently working at top firms like Morgan Lewis, Ropes & Gray, and Kirkland & Ellis,” the publication reports. The other schools on the list are Northern Illinois University, Catholic University of America, New York Law, Santa Clara University, DePaul University, and John Marshall.
Suffolk has 224 graduates working in Big Law, earning it Business Insider’s No. 1 spot among a group of high-achieving institutions that generally get less attention for their prestigious job placements than their Ivy League peers.
“We are thrilled that Business Insider has highlighted the power of a Suffolk Law education,” said Suffolk Law Dean Andrew Perlman. “One reason for our Big Law success is that Suffolk offers students an outstanding practice-oriented legal education. We’re the only law school in the country that, for six years in a row, has had all four of its skills programs—clinics, legal writing, dispute resolution, and trial advocacy—ranked among the top 20% in U.S. News. In addition, in both 2021 and 2018, PreLaw Magazine named us the number one school in the nation for legal technology. These programs ensure that our students hit the ground running, and that’s what employers increasingly demand.”
