Suffolk Law Graduates Land Jobs at Record Pace

Class of 2024 achieves highest employment outcomes in decades
Within 10 months of graduation, more than 87% of Suffolk Law's Class of 2024 secured full-time positions where a JD was required or provided a significant advantage—the highest employment rate the school has ever recorded and a testament to a decade-long surge that has positioned Suffolk among the nation's fastest-improving law schools on this important metric of success.

"These results are testament to the excellence of our graduates, the practical and innovative focus of Suffolk Law's curriculum, and the hard work of our outstanding professional and career development team," said Gerald Slater, dean of the Law School’s Office of Professional & Career Development.

Over the past decade, the school has posted the 10th fastest increase in employment outcomes of any law school in the country, with growth spanning virtually every major employment category—from prestigious federal clerkships to cutting-edge positions in legal technology, from Big Law associate roles to public interest advocacy.

The Class of 2024's success story unfolds across diverse legal landscapes: 204 graduates joined law firms of every size, from solo practices to global partnerships; 56 entered government service; 27 began careers in public interest law; and 13 secured competitive judicial clerkships. Perhaps most telling, 297 graduates landed full-time positions where bar admission was required—a strong indicator of the legal profession's confidence in Suffolk-trained lawyers.

Behind these numbers lies Suffolk Law’s strategic curricular and programmatic innovations. Suffolk Law has emerged as a national leader in preparing students for 21st-century practice, pioneering nationally-leading programs in legal innovation and technology while maintaining its century-old commitment to practical, hands-on learning. The school's Legal Innovation & Technology Lab, a national leader, exemplifies this forward-thinking approach, giving students real-world experience with the tools and methodologies reshaping legal practice. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Suffolk Law’s legal writing program at No. 3 in the nation, and the clinics landed at No. 8 (all-time highs for both programs).

The employment surge also reflects the growing reputation of Suffolk Law alumni, who have earned recognition for their pragmatic approach and readiness to contribute from day one. Employers increasingly view Suffolk graduates as exceptionally well-prepared for the demands of modern legal practice—a reputation built through the school's emphasis on experiential learning.

Slater's Professional and Career Development office has been instrumental in this transformation, building relationships with employers nationwide and creating innovative programming that connects students with opportunities across the legal spectrum. The office's data-driven approach to career counseling and its emphasis on individualized support have helped students navigate an increasingly competitive job market.

For Suffolk Law, these employment outcomes represent more than statistics—they validate a vision of legal education that prizes innovation, practical skills, and real-world readiness. As the legal profession continues to evolve, the Class of 2024's success signals that Suffolk graduates are not just keeping pace with change, but leading it.
