What’s your hometown?

I’m originally from Nashville, TN.

What drew you to your field?

As a major, philosophy gives students a fundamental understanding of a multitude of topics. My hope is to utilize that knowledge to pursue a law degree or PhD in philosophy.

Why did you choose Suffolk?

When I first visited Suffolk, I was very impressed with the leadership in the philosophy department. I also think that Boston is a great city to live in as a college student.

What experiences have been the most significant for you so far?

I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to join multiple clubs and meet students from all over the world. I feel like this experience has given me an opportunity to be exposed to a wide variety of cultures.

Are there any faculty or staff members who have helped shape your time here?

I would consider Professor Link to be an incredible and supportive mentor who always makes himself available to his students. His classes have been exceptionally rewarding, and he is invested in his students' academic and personal development.

Are you involved in any student organizations?

I am the president of the Philosophy Club, and I also participate in the Asian American Association and S.A.G.E. (Sexuality and Gender Equity). These clubs have helped me in forming a community of peers and remaining connected on campus.

I spent a semester volunteering as a tutor for 826 Boston and I am also an honors ambassador, supporting events on campus. Through my position as an honors ambassador, I have gained knowledge of academic and educational resources, including guest speakers and student events.

What are your career ambitions and goals?

In the future, I would like to have some position teaching or instructing. I aim to accomplish these goals by continuing my education at either a law school or a graduate program.

At Suffolk, philosophy majors are exceptionally prepared to score well on the LSAT, and many of the critical-thinking skills we are tested on will prove useful in a school of law.
